what is griha pravesh muhurta?
Griha Pravesh (literally “house entry”) is the Vedic ceremony marking the first time a family enters a new home. The muhurta (auspicious time) for this entry sets the energetic foundation for years of family life in that space.
Classical texts prescribe entering the home during the waxing moon (Shukla Paksha), on a favorable weekday, when the Moon is in one of the auspicious nakshatras — and ideally when the homeowner's tara bala (relationship to the Moon's nakshatra) is favorable.
